Plano Unlimited Athletes Shine at Regionals, Western’s Bound!

Plano, TX, April 20th, 2009;   Plano Unlimited Sports Academy’s Level 9 and 10 optional girl’s team has an impressive performance at  the Regionall Championships held in Denver, Colorado April 17th-19th bringing home 5 medals and one athlete advancing to Westerns Championships.. 

Level 9/10 Regional Championships have competing athletes from 7 states including Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Kansas.  This competition is the stopping point of the season for many for a select few it is the opportunity to advance to the highpoint of their season which is the Western Championships for level 9 and Nationals for level 10.  Only the top 6 girls from each age group move on.

Competing in the Level 9 Jr. 2 division was our own Skyler Sheppard of Murphy and Peyton Travis.  Skyler Sheppards best events, Beam and Floor proved good for her as she won a Bronze medal on Beam with a score of 9.550 and 5th place on floor with a 9.450.  Skyler placed 9th in the All-Around.  Peyton Travis also competed in the Jr. 2 division and did well on Bars and Floor.  Peyton sustained an injury before going into her last event and was unable to compete on Vault and finish the competition.

Jensen McMillen competed in the Level 9 Jr. 7 division which proved to be a good day for her.  Jensen had her best meet of the season winning the Gold medal on Vault with a 9.175, the Silver medal on Beam with a 9.250 and the Silver medal with 2nd place in the All-Around division.  Coming in 2nd place allows Jensen to advance on to the Level 9 Western Championships held May 8-10 in Bartlesville, OK.  This is the highpoint competition for Level 9 and is the final meet of the season where she will be representing Region 3.

The Level 10 team consisted of Brianna McCant, Emma Sibson and Abby Bollinger in the Jr. A division and Molly O’Bryan in the Jr. B division.  Brianna McCannt had an fantastic score of 9.6 on Vault coming in 15th in the All-Around.  Emma Siblson had an outstanding score of 9.8 on Vault winning the Silver medal and placing 18th All-Around.  Abby Bollinger placed 9th on Floor with a score of 9.400 and did well on her events placing 27th in the All-Around.  Molly O’Bryan in the Jr. B division received a 9.225 on Vault and Beam and did well on her other events as well placing 16th in the All-Around.

 

PlanoUSA girls are coached by Head Coach Helen Verucchi, Valeriy Indyukov, Evgueni Indioukov, and MarinaTatarchina.

Athletes shine in Rose City bringing home 19 medals.

Plano, TX, April 2nd , 2009;   PlanoUnlimitedSportsAcademy’s optional athletes have great success at the Rose City Classic in Tyler, TX.
Competing in the Level 7 Junior A division, Alyssa LaDieu of Rockwall started of the day with a great score on Vault and Bars winning her a Silver medal on both events.  Alyssa also received a Bronze medal on Beam and Floor as well as the Silver medal in the All-Around.              
Competing in the Level 8 group Jr. B division, Kaley DeWeese recovering from a recent injury competed for the first time this season and had a good meet placing 4th on Beam.  Emily Bockoven in the Sr. A division came home with the Gold medal on Floor and the Bronze medal on Beam.  Emily also tied for the Bronze medal in the All-Around.
Our Level 9 team had an excellent performance by all 3 athletes.  Skyler Sheppard in the Jr. A divison won 3 Gold medals on the Beam, Floor and the All-Around.  She also received Silver on Bars.  Peyton Travis also in the Jr. A division won the Silver medal on Floor as well as the Bronze medal on Vault, Beam and All-Around.  Jensen McMillen of Plano competed in the Sr. A division placing 4th on Vault and Floor and 5th place on Beam.  All of the girls had a fantastic meet when also won the Level 9 team a 3rd place Team Trophy.
Wrapping up the day in Level 10 was Brianna McCant, Abby Bollinger and Molly O’Bryan.  Brianna McCant competed in the Jr. A division and wont the Silver medal on both Vault and Beam.  Abby Bollinger also in the Jr. A division had a great meet placing with a tie for 4th place on Bars and 5th place on Floor.  Molly  O’Bryan in the Jr. B division finished strong with 4th place on Bars, Beam and All-Around.
This was their last competition of regular season and are now preparing for the various level’s State competitions.
